After a century apiece in each of the matches, 23-year-old Canterbury batsman Henry Nicholls has topped the run charts from the short but sweet first-class contest with Sri Lanka A in his home territory.
Nicholls averaged a stellar 184.50 from just three innings, his form continuing a power start to a season in which he also put up an unbeaten one-day century for the New Zealand Winter Training Squad in its warmup fixture over his usual teammates in the Canterbury squad.
Graceful lefthander Kithuruwan Vithanage, who has already played 16 international matches for Sri Lanka across all formats, meanwhile topped the Sri Lanka A run aggregates with 244 runs from his four innings at 61.00.

Unsurprisingly, after his second career bag of 10 or more wickets in a match, Canterbury legspinner Todd Astle topped the wicket-taking stakes for New Zealand A as they went unbeaten for the tour, and BLACKCAPS pace bowler Neil Wagner chimed in with eight in the at times blustery late spring conditions in Lincoln and Christchurch.
Legbreak bowler Jeffrey Vandersay matched that overall count for Sri Lanka A, having taken a five-for in each of the first-class matches.
