Oram takes over as world’s top all-rounder in ODIs

New Zealand’s Jacob Oram has moved to the top of the ICC Player Rankings for ODI all-rounders after a series-winning performance in Bangladesh.

The 30-year-old scored 135 runs in the three matches at an average of 67.50 and took four wickets at an equally impressive average of 12.50 and an economy rate of just 2.38.

In the process he has moved up two places in the latest rankings, taking over the top ranking for the first time in his career. Oram is 10th on the bowling list and 33rd in the batting rankings.

It was also a good series for Kyle Mills who has risen to fifth in the bowling rankings for the first time after taking five wickets at 10.83 in the series.

With Daniel Vettori slipping one place, Australia’s Nathan Bracken has gone top of the ODI bowling rankings. Slow left-armer Vettori had a disappointing series by his standards, taking just one wicket in three matches at an average of 112 although his economy rate of 4 was still competitive.
