Hamilton dominate Wairarapa

Hamilton have secured first innings points in convincing fashion against Wairarapa in the Hawke Cup.

Hamilton posted an imposing 678 during their innings, a total which was far too much for Wairarapa.

The boys from the ‘Tron’ opted to bat first and never looked in any trouble from the first ball to the last.

Kier Bettley was the first to really excel for Hamilton though as the Captain made a very impressive 145. His good work was carried on by BLACKCAP BJ Watling, who went on to top score for his side with 170.

To add insult to punishment Andy Dodd came in and also brought up triple figures to finish at 137 to his name.

Aided by many of their team mates, these three big scores took Hamilton to a massive final total of 678 all out.

In reply Wairarapa knew it would be tough to hold on against a strong Hamilton side and it proved too much for them.

Andrew Mathieson was the key for Hamilton as they destroyed the Wairarapa batting line-up to have them all out for 137.

Mathieson ended up with figures of four for 29 from 17 overs.

Hamilton once again showed just how strong they are.
