Helen Littleworth

Dunedin-based Helen Littleworth is a former Black Ferns captain (New Zealand women's rugby team) who played 14 Test matches for the Black Ferns between 1990 to 1996, including at the famous Cardiff Arms Park in Wales. She'd already represented New Zealand in hockey (from 1986 to 1988) and was named the University of Otago’s Sportsperson of the Year in October 1995.

She then took up rugby coaching for the Otago women’s rugby team and brings to the WHITE FERNS not only her feeling for the high performance sports environment, but vast experience in the area of sports and manipulative physiotherapy with more than 20 years' experience in private practice.

Her sports physiotherapy CV includes not only the WHITE FERNS and BLACK FERNS (as physio to the 2007 Rugby World Cup), but team physio roles at the Beijing and London Olympic Games, 2006 and 2010 Commonwealth Games (the latter in Delhi) and World Athletics Championship of 2007, 2009 and 2011.

Littleworth is also the lead physiotherapist for Athletics NZ, and a preferred physiotherapy provider for High Performance Sport NZ.
