Australia completes clean sweep

The White Ferns fell to a four-wicket win to Australia, giving the world champions a 5-0 victory in the Rose Bowl series.

The New Zealanders won the toss and batted first, making 204 for eight off their 50 over allocation.

Sara McGlashan top-scored with 45, while tailenders Helen Watson (39) and Nicola Browne (26) adding 65 for the seventh wicket.

Southern Stars medium pacer Kirsten Pike helped her team with four wickets for 26 runs off 10 overs.

The home team started slowly, falling to 18 for two, and despite Michelle Goszko’s 40, they were again stumbling at 80 for four.

However, an unbroken stand of 71 by Sarah Edwards (45) and Julie Hayes (36) steered their team home.
