A disciplined England side were too good on the day, beating the White Ferns by four wickets in the ICC Women's World Cup at the North Sydney Oval in Australia.
The White Ferns won the toss and elected to bat with Haidee Tiffen and Kate Pulford putting on 26 before Pulford was well caught in the gully for eight.

The best partnership of the day was then produced for the eighth wicket between Nicola Browne and 21 year old Lucy Doolan. The pair put on 62 runs with Doolan hitting a gutsy 48 off 56 balls, including a creative reverse sweep for four off the back.
Sophie Devine didn't last long, given out LBW without scoring and Nicola Browne went shortly after to leave the White Ferns on an inadequate 166 all out in the 48th over.
Nicky Shaw, the late inclusion into the England team, was the best of The English bowlers taking 4/34.
England began their chase in an positive manner putting on 50 off only 60 balls and didn't lose a wicket until the inspirational Lucy Doolan snared Sarah Taylor in the 18th over.
Aimee Mason then clean bowled Claire Taylor with the score on 102 and Lucy Doolan claimed both Caroline Atkins and England Skipper Charlotte Edwards to have England 121 for four in the 31st over.
Two new batsman, Lydia Greenway and Beth Morgan chipped away at the small target before Mason struck again, taking the wicket of Greenway to have them 139 for five.
The White Ferns then run out Morgan in the 42nd over but the small target proved too difficult to defend and England eventually hitting the winning runs in the 47th over.
