Australia claim T20I series over WHITE FERNS

The Australian Women's side have lived up to their world champion status claiming an eight wicket win over the WHITE FERNS at Allan Border Field this afternoon.

Scorecard

The win wraps up the T20I series for Australia who have an unassailable 2-0 series lead ahead of Wednesday's final T20I.

The day started well for the visitors, captain Sophie Devine winning the toss and batting first on a slowing Allan Border Field pitch.

Amy Satterthwaite was the key performer with the bat, finding the boundary at regular intervals, however, when she was stumped by a matter of millimetres, the innings lost impetus.

The WHITE FERNS posted a middling 128, all out in the final over of the innings, a score that didn't trouble the Australian batting card.

Alyssa Healy got the chase off to a fast start with 33 off 17 balls, before Rachael Haynes and captain Meg Lanning secured victory in the 17th over.
