Thirteen year old Singh stars for Hinds

Thirteen year old bowling sensation, Maneka Singh, helped the Central Hinds win a low scoring encounter against the Auckland Hearts at Elizabeth Park, Masterton.

The young medium pacer, who is only playing her second match, took four for 11 off 8.4 overs to leave the Hearts 27 runs short of the Hinds total.

Pursuing 149 for victory the Hearts could only muster 121 as they were bowled out in the 42nd over.

Hearts captain Victoria Lind did her best with 44 but the rest of the batsmen failed.

Earlier, Central made 148 after being put into bat with the top score of 31 coming from number nine batsman Rachel Candy.  Esther Lanser made 30 at the top of the order with eighteen year old Kate Broadmore next best with 26.

All of the Hearts attack was accurate with Holly Huddleston returning the best figures of three for 20 off seven overs.
