Amy Satterthwaite was in irresistible touch with both bat and ball as she led Canterbury Magicians to a confident 55-run run win over Wellington Blaze in Upper Hutt, Wellington.
She belted 95 off 117 balls at first drop as the southerners made a healthy 241 for eight, then fronted again with the ball to claim three for 40 as Wellington fell well short as they were dismissed for 186 in the 45th over.
International Sophie Devine was Wellington's best with a run-a-ball 54, but Wellington could not cope with a Canterbury attack superbly served by Satterthwaite, Kelly Anderson and legspinner Erin Bermingham.
Anderson was superb in claiming three for 22 off 8.5 overs while Bermingham, used to open with the new ball, went home with figures of two for 27 off a full complement of 10 overs.
