BLACKCAPS go 1-0 up in T20I series

The BLACKCAPS have claimed a first up win in the KFC T20I series against the West Indies with a five wicket victory at Eden Park.

BLACKCAPS Skipper Tim Southee won the toss, opting to bowl first with the threat of rain imminent from the outset of play.

Lockie Ferguson starred with the ball for the home side, taking 5-21 - only the second BLACKCAP to claim a T20I five wicket bag. Meanwhile Kieron Pollard was at his brutal best with the bat, scoring a swashbuckling 75 off 37 balls.

New Zealand's victorious chase was headlined by Devon Conway's 41 batting at number three, Glenn Phillips' 22 off seven balls, then finished off in style by Jimmy Neesham (48) and Mitchell Santner (31).
